got a 96 dse auto on my way to work last night put my foot down to overtake and got a beep gearbox fault it is now pulling away at around 2500rpm and barely moving once it gets going can feel and hear it is slipping ie revving higher than usual also would appear torque converter lock up is not happening just happily slipping along!
going to try and get the codes read on my way home this morning may have to wait a while not good after a 12hr nightshift!
anyone had this happen from searching around possible, a pack clutch failure? poss torque converter?
hoping it is just an , a pack clutch failure as not toobad to do by all accounts if not gearbox rebuild on the cards?:(

Of course. Typical got in it to drive home and all fine and back to normal took it the long way
And gave it a good thrashing and fine except engine dying at higher rpm (above 3000rpm)
Let of the throttle and it comes back poss fuel starvation as I run on nothing but bio diesel so suspect
Fuel filter a little blocked as it cleans the crap out of the fuel system.
Just sat waiting for the garage to open to use diag

Fault code is 24 intermittant downshift control fault will go home and ring ashcroft trans but if anyone has had a similar or the same fault then let me know!
