hi all been given an oil pressure gauge is it possible to use the gauge and still keep the low oil pressure light on the dash if so how many thanks in advance (2003 td4)
 
yep...
An "T" piece in place of stock pressure sender. One socket for dash light switch, second one for pressure gauge.

thanks very much winu so the second socket on the t piece will run a oil fed pressure gauge it dosent need to be electrical:eek:
 
It should be electrical. Mechanical gauges are not safe when you need to put an hot (100-120*C) and pressurized oil in to passenger compartment .
All stuff that have contact with oil should stay in engine compartment.

When you buy an electrical gauge - there will be a pressure sender, small "bubble" with membrane inside that converts physical oil pressure to electrical value for gauge

Look at VDO . Good price and, accurate gauges. Cheap Chinese gauges are gadgets for chicks picked up for a ride from nearest disco club. :D
