No revs at first start up

Nightmare this one ..94 300TDI Auto..Starts instantly in the mornings but will not rev above 1500..After a few minutes it will rev normally .However it is quite sluggish and a slight incline will make it slow down and then change down..Uses hardly any oil does not smoke and sounds nice ..Cleaned sediment bowl new filter new lift pump still the same ..Any ideas?? TIA

Im having the same problem almost. Mine is not every mornings this happens but some times.

Snap with the fault and snap on number of posts until this one LOL

done that and fuel filter, lift pump. sedimeter

Try taking the top off your inj pump there's four screws holding it on ! Inside you will find a diagphram that controls your turbos boost ! Mark it's position with white tip ex on the rubber and it's surrounding holder ! It is possible to adjust fueling by rotating it!! Remove the part and inspect for tears and holes! Replace if torn etc !! Check operation of turbo and vacuum pipes !!leak off pipes etc !!check turbo !!!you could fit a boost gauge to fully check turbo performance etc !

If its an auto, I assume it still has the edc pump? If thats the case then there is no adjustment on the pump other than refining IQ.

You will need a diagnostic to determine which sensor is causing the issue as it doesn't sound mechanical.

Pumps the same as my manual but different to my other later auto

In that case, it has a manual mechanical pump fitted.
