Morning folks,

I have now discovered some the delights of Land Rover ownership.... Leaks, squeaks, grinding, clunking and on going ritual maintenance !!! Yesterday I learned how to check transfer box and diff levels, along with one shot CV packs (I like them).

Today I shall mostly be greasing things (after I have been out to buy a new socket set and some car ramps)

Prop shafts and drive shaft UJs - can I just squidge grease over these? And are there any nipples to pack out as well??? Your collective wisdom and guidance would be much appreciated.

Sorry if it seems like a 'thicky' question, but I don't know jack sh1t about mechanicism

There are grease nipples for the Drive shafts and the UJ's. Check your haynes manual or the rave cd for the nipple locations

it will just fly off ,waxoyl them if you must but greasing nipples regulary is all you need to do you can buy longer 6mm nipples to make greasing esaier, grease till you hear it spit out

If you're feeling very adventurous it's a good idea to remove the shafts and bench grease them, this way you can be sure the ujs are nice and smooth too. Sometimes the grease only goes one way if the joint is under tension.

Not necessary but worth doing if you don't know when they were last done

Cooked ujs fail in a scary manner!
