Hi guys
Whilst browsing another site I came across this offer for their members to get a nanocom evo from a German supplier at a small discount, is that some thing we could look at as they seem to be getting a good response, or is it against the rules to mention another forum.

Walpoleer sounds like a good old English name.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

If you are the German company who are wanting to supply said Nanocams why don't you just try asking if anyone objects to you posting a link to em?

No Sorry I am not the supplier, as far as I am aware none of my family ever visited Germany, well apart from my father but that was some time ago and apparently he was a bit high to really chat, who would have thought they would let a chappy take drugs during a war...especially as a navigator.

Von Walpoleer.

but had to change it during the first world war...but not the only land rover owner thats done that.

The Nanocom EVO is a really stunning bit of kit, a really advanced graphical unit with a brilliant and innovative touch screen interface that puts the likes of our FCR to shame, and has true future potential. And indeed as a VIN free unit, it is a no brainer for many. The Hawkeye does not even come close.

The group buy offer the OP stated was happening on defender2.net was in fact quite genuine, and the German company in question had no need to resort to any form of underhanded tactics, as the few units he had in stock were very quickly sold out.

In fact, as the new owner of Nanocom, which was always the only real competition we regarded as notable, the German company owner is now looking to me to supply him with sufficient Nanocom units to help him fulfill the orders he has.

Nobody said the offer wasn't genuine. It's just strange how the thread was put up by a brand new never posted before member of this forum who just so have happened to have joined on the very day of his firs post which happened to be all about the special deal. Normally spammers would have be bannished on the spot but as I know that some of our members would be interested in the new nanocom I left the thread up rather than deleting it.

Hiya ratty
Nah dead right and spot on the ball.
As you and members picked up on, the thread and OP history stinks like a barrel of year old kippers waving a spam flag LOL and is quite rightly questionable at best
And due credit to you for leaving it lie to see how it panned out

I just wanted to follow up with what i knew.

Cheers for the update.:)

I have an older style Nanoom myself and find it dead easy to use. I'll be one of those people that sit on the sideline for 6 months to make sure there are no teething problems with the evo prior to buying one.;):)

bloody hell your world must really suck ratty:eek:....I was actually grateful for the assistance that I had from this forum in getting and repairing my disco...good members like SHIFTY:) stand out but fair to say others don't.
I didn't think I joined the same day I thought I have been member for about a year before I made my first post. not always signed in but usually there.
The Offer for this unit was genuine:nospamhere: and I thought it would be good to alert this forum to its existence.....but guess that's just fannying around.

BBS it is indeed a good piece of kit, and glad to see your on board as You have a better rep for product support....that's whats needed...fair to say I am struggling with it a little, mainly due to driver error. and lack of a good opperating instructions, still manage to set up a 2nd hand key using the internal number and do a fault check...if only I actually understood the result.

Now wondering what my first post should have been, any thoughts on a D.S. or what colour of tyres work best for hill climes in the East Anglian fens. what the hell the post stands. have fun all:p

:doh:true that's a fine idea in retrospect..guess I am just a bit shy.:).

no worries for the link I received the nanocom a few days ago and I am genning up on what it can do, its a really powerful tool and I expect it will pay for itself in no time, already diagnosed two faults on my disco I wasn't aware off, with the yet to be removed EGR system. prompted an order from fleeBay and will be replaced next weekend, looking forward to an improved disco experience. with this offer and delivery I paid 318 euro in total, about £280 with delivery..think that's not too bad really. well I was happy with it, and now BBS has bought nanocom out the customer service should improve along with the product support, well that's the hope.

Have a nice day.

Gordon, 2000 Discovery2 TD5 ES with every thing working ( except the EGR) and a small roof leak, so pretty standard really.and available to help in the fens if needed.

Hiya walpoleer

Thanks for the comments of support and appreciation. ;)

It is definitely a good thing that we have stepped in for everyone interested in the Nanocom, as we already have a very good administration and support infrastructure in place that we can use, and this seems to be the biggest problem that has prevented the system from being even more successful than it already is.

It's going to take us a little time to sort it all out out, but we have already started by setting up a dedicated owners only technical support forum for the Nanocom EVO, alongside our existing one. This will allow the original Nanocom developer a dedicated place where he, along with my own staff, can help support the system much better, and will lend to quicker debugging of any problems etc.

We of course intend to review and re write most of the documentation too.

I wouldn't say that my world sucked. As the guy that has to differentiate between spam posts and genuine members looking to help others as you have stated you wish to I have to make an educated guess when a post like yours pops up. I would say that one of the first thing I look out for is what other posts have been put up prior to the spam. As you can see your thread is still here. Yes I challenged you but what did you expect? A typical wow gold type spammer will generally not reply to anything that anyone puts on their thread. They will simply spam and run. Some spammers out to start up a business or get free advertising will often argue with those that reply on the thread when they get told where to get off. A post like the one you put up could be a genuine offer where you, the OP is not making any money. It could be that they are the seller. On an average day I rekon I must delete between 50 and 100 spam posts. I know that many people on this forum have been waiting for the new Nanocom to come out (myself included). Your thread is still here because you answered the challenge that I put up to check that you and the offer was genuine. I felt your reply was of a satisfactory nature. Now pop a chill pill and calm down.;):p

Out of curiosity are you going to be assisting with the technical support of the older style Nanocom units too? From what I can gather there has been a lack of customer support for owners of the older style unit over the last year or so. I already have an old style Nanocom unit which I am happy with and keep constantly plugged into my landy in instrument mode. I want to see how the evo pans out and make sure it has no teething problems before buying one.

:) Thats a huge thumbs up BBS...hope you can get the suspension plip program sorted...lol...To be fair as I use this kit...it seems to cross over from the DIY system to the flexibility of a profesional tool. I am very impressed:)

Chill pill taken:) but the original post still stands, seeing we have the new owner as a senior member can we have the offer on our forum. I am sure that the defender owner will be members of both , but the disco and freelander members may not be. so once BBS has got themselves sorted then I hope we can see a discount to this forum, also the UK seems a bit left out of the supply chain if we have to order from either Italy or Germany to get one of these, just a thought..now leaving up to my betters to sort out.

have a nice day

Gordon D2 TD5 owner from the fens which means it will probably never see another hill

I for one am glad that your original post is genuine and that it still stands.

I'm also hoping that BBS's intervention will help put Nanocom back where they used to be. Unfortunately recently Nanocom seem to have neglected their existing client base and then repeatedly put back the launch date of the evo leaving hawkeye with a clear field. There were a lot of people on here who were waiting for the evo to come out and because it took so long they bought the Hawkeye instead.

Hiya Ratty
As have stated, i give due credit to your decision not to simply delete this thread, along with the usual spam posts you might have cause or reason to delete on a daily basis, despite it initially smelling very fishy and spam like, which others had noted. My initial input was primarily designed to vindicate this decision and thread, notify all here that Nanocom was under new management, and validate the OP's post about the fact that a group buy was going on (Sadly on) another forum :)

We will of course do our best to better support the Nanocom system as i have indicated and our support of the EVO may well bleed over into improvements in the the older non EVO unit, but we / I really cannot make any guarantees.

However, in terms of BBS intervention, generally it can so obviously be nothing other than good news all round. :)

BBS guy. I know you weren't trying to spam so don't panic.:)

I'm doing it for you.;):p

So for those people that are sat at home reading this and scratching their heads thinking what the hell is a Nanocom Evolution? What's the difference between the evolution and the old Nanocom unit? and what can the Nanocom do that a Hawkeye can't? would you like to give a brief explanation for em?

INNOCENT WHISTLE!!!!;)
