I have just recently bought insa dakars 235/85/16 tyres on steel modulars for my disco .... What mods will I need to do to her ?? Ill be putting a 2" suspension lift kit on and ill cut the back arch but is there anything else I should or need to do ??? Thanks :)

Really?????

Disco 1 will probably need a camel cut at the minimum.

You may need to go further by cutting the lips off the arches or extending the bump stops.

Thanks guys ... Ill be cutting the back arch anyway .. Where would I get the bigger bump stops from ?????? Any recommendations ?

You do talk **** sometimes don't you…………..

I've got 245/75's on mine and don't have any cutting……..they fit perfectly and only just rub on full articulation which means that 235/75 should be just fine especially as thats what I had on mine before fitting the 245's and never had a problem

Your a prick Evil

I have 235 85 16 on my RRC, which is the same chassis and arch lines as the disco, so I KNOW what I had to do to get them to clear.

Can't you can go play with the other kiddies.

235/85 being 2" taller than a 235/75

Fcukwit……..those are 81cm tall a 235/75 is only 75cm tall, thats more or less a 2" difference in diameter between the two and you may have the same chassis

But the arches aren't the same

QFT

The common area of complaint is the rear of the rear arches which on a disco come down steeper than a RRC. As for the 235/75's, they are basically 31" which is what I had on mine, needed the rear of the rear arch trimmed and thats it, mine was with a 2" lift on it, never had any other issues.

Depends how good your suspension is I suppose and the alloys, I'm running boosts with standard suspension and they rubbed on full articulation (245) however on HD Blue at +1.25 theres no problems when flexed.

Disco arches never changed shape from 200-300 did they ? Or from late to early rather ? Mines an extremely late 98 so may be wider but doubt it

Just to fuel the fire,on my 94 with 235/85's I had to camel cut and adjust the steering stops and this is with bearmach blues hd +30 front and +40 rear:)

Balls I've just noticed I've been arguing the wrong point……..I thought he was fitting 235/75 instead of the standard 205's

Still right though, no need for a camel cut or mods on 245 or 235 in 75% ratio

Wheel spacers will allow you to keep a reasonable turning circle whilst stopping the wheels rubbing on the inside of the arches on full lock.

Plus it gives you a wider stance, which looks good.
