Guys and women memory map is free for a trail on apple app world for iphone/ipad/ipod but you only get it for 5 days when you download it

Got my notebook and setting it up this week!!

Free memory maps is the only way forward! No way I'm paying a yearly few for it hahaha!

That's the bad thing you can only have it for 5 days how did you get it free

Downmloaded it from Bit Torrent inc the whole of the UK in 1:25k 1:50 and UK CAA charts for pilots. :D

and promptly set about burning it onto half a doz DVD's and spread it around as many peeps as possible. I reckon if ya did a family tree type drawing of where everyone on here got there MM from 75% of the links would filter back to the original set of DVD's that I Burned about 5 years ago..

Software Piracy It's the only way forwards :D :D

Is there a website as I know a few people who may want it for laning

Right people it won't let me download on my iPhone so I will try on my laptop tomorrow

i had heard its rubbish on ipad the free bits you found on the web dont work on it either :D

Afraid you heard wrong, its an awesome piece of kit on an iPad, spot on GPS signal, clear and easy screen and touch screen controls for easy as pie plotting and route planning along with all the usual features...

The app use to be free, you still have to pay for the maps though, I dont the £25 for 25,000km2 and I only just used it up after getting the entire east anglia region and all of south/mid wales, not bad really considering how much it would have cost for the actual maps!

BTW watch out for the torrents, they are usually out of date, a lot of lanes change each year, I got the torrents of the 2010 maps and they were already out of date in some areas

Yes and no. ;)

It is great on the ipad, but they have patched it a while back, so that if you update beyond, from memory, ipa version 3.1, it won't run your torrented maps, it will ask you to sign into their digital map store instead.

Stick with version 3.1 and you are fine, the only snag is it doesn't support full resolution of the iphone 5.
