Hi
I have purchased some electric leather seats to replace my manual seats. Have got them in, but electrics not working as only have a lowline Becm. Unfortunately the new seats are leaning too far back and I need to adjust them. Any ideas how to do this manually. Even better can I operate the new seats from this Becm?

You cannot operate the seats from a lowline BECM. If you are any good at electrics, it ought to be possible to rig them up to work indendant of the BECM.

Hi Guys,

I found this post on google and thought id ask a question!

As per Wills instructions i checked my BECM and it has a big H!

Can I add electric seats? I currently have 95 SE 4.0 P38. M reg first of the line!!

Thanks in advance

It's been a while since I have done any work on my P38's seats, however, in theory you should be able to have the electric seats if you have the highline BeCM - im not sure what the spec of a 95 BeCM would be, however, if it has the H on then im sure you can get them in ok.

Anyway, you need to take out the driver's seat and look for connector C912 as shown in this photo...

If you have this then plugging the correct loom in and connecting the grounding eye to the point behind the BeCM should get them going - you may have to fit fuses 10 & 20 (both 30 amp) in the side of the BeCM if they are missing also.

If you get memory seats you additionally need to get the correct loom and make sure connector C907 is also present on your BeCM as shown below...

Make sure you disconnect the battery before installing any new seat loom as the grounding point you have to attach to is shared with other stuff.

Hope that helps

Hi,

Thanks Wills, really appreciate the help!

I never thought about the memory option, Ill take a look.

It may not be the original Becm. A lot can happen in 17 years!! :)

Any ideas how to ID the becm to the car, so i can confirm its the original?

hi guys

bit of a bump on this, i have manual seats, but have an option on some electric in same color

i have a 96 DSE, im just going to check the bcem if highline in a minute when i go to work, it has heated seats, cruise control etc, so im hoping it does

couple of questions-
if it does, is there anything else i need to check ? are all electric seats +memory ? and if i get the seats, what else will i need ? just the looms ? will my heated seat looms have the electric seat plugs already on ? and/or are there different looms for electric, and electric memory seats ?

just trying to be clear on whats needed and to look for before getting the seats

thanks

A highline becm has the capabilty to power the seats & sunroof. This is the difference between highline & lowline are these two options.

Be careful when purchasing a loom, as memory seats have an extra connector on the loom that plugs in under the seat, something heated/electric seat looms don't have.

I've got some spare leather seats in lightstone. But they are not memory. In fact the seat back is manual. They are nappa though!

Hi i have a 1996 dse i have just put all electric seats in you need the part wire loom from the r/r when you take seats out hore this helps Pete

Search you need a highline bcem and sticker on it should tell you
