Took the V8 from Bordon to chester for a trackday in her RS6. 250miles each way. cost 160quid in juice= 19.8MPG combined

V8 was awsome comfy and never missed a beat or overheated

drove like a grandad on the way up and cained it a bit on the way back. ****ed a cupra R and a saxo VTS off as I was still up there chuff at 1.15;)

coming back on the M6 I heard a massive bang and the force made the sunroof open:eek:

instant reaction was blow-out and hello grim reaper:rolleyes:

pulled over to the hard shoulder and got out expecting to see a tyre gone and some rim left........Turns out the back box had exploded and was peeled open like a bannana and hanging down:eek::eek:

spent the next 30mins beating off what was left of the rear box with the wheel brace while waiting for a trucker with his head on the pillow to turn up:rolleyes:
Eventually beat it off and chucked it in the hedge then drove off.

Anyone any ideas what happend?? over fueling??

the eggaust exploded :)

If the exhaust has seen a bit of life it's possible that the interior just collapsed, speed, vibration, heat etc. A V8 at warp factor is pumping a fair amount of exhaust gasses and if it's not going out the back it's going to find the next weak spot, bang goes the outer casing.

Get a cherrybomb....and some ear plugs
Always drive with the sunroof open

worst case scenario...cherrybomb is lighter, so ya can throw it further into the hedge

I wouldnt normally dump stuff but at the time thats the first thing that came to mind.

It was better than leaving it to eventaully fall off on the M6 for some poor bugger to hit:rolleyes::rolleyes:

wow , sounds like fun lol- you did say you were gonna take the exhaust off :p

I got the 72 on the road to day :D its not totally finished but is road worthy , it sounds bad ass with the old exhaust still on lol. come down if you want bud and we can go scare some peeps :p
