I've not touched the proper lever yet.. i don't like the idea of turning xenons off and on without them cooling down just for fun and i couldn't wait 5 mins as it was my bedtime haha

Normally on RHD there is an uptick of the beams on the left side, your beam is flat which is OK for the EU.

If they are xenon they are a flat beam.
On you photo there is a distinct lack of kick up on the light image to the right hand side suggesting they a flat pattern. EU friendly they may well be

They had done but now the majority is back to as it was because some people still drove like idiots but slower

Have you found a decent solution for recovery in France? I have the usual "recover to nearest garage" cover with my French motor insurance but sorely miss the equivalent of RAC/AA/Green Flag etc

I haven't, my current recovery company offers short term EU cover, but not for my particular car

No, I have not found an AA/RAC/Green Flag equivalent in France. I have to say that the recovery to the nearest garage is a lot quicker than the UK motoring services, I have had the misfortune to use the service once. With the P38, I would want recovery to my home address as I wouldn't trust any garage to fix it even though I would have to pay. Luckily, the P38 has never let me down in a way that I couldn't fix en-route.

They did, it cost a fortune to take down the 90kmh signs and replace them with 80kmh and then put them back again.....

All around the Vienne the signs were changed to 80kph and more expense as slowly they are being changed back to 90kphThey did by us lad
I too would like recovery to my home address but there doesn't seem to be any way to obtain it. The best that I found was recovery to a value of up to €300 for a higher insurance premium. It doesn't seem possible to improve on that. I live in Brittany so €300 wouldn't go very far if the car broke down on the Côte d'Azur.
I needed to call on the recover to nearest garage last year when one Sunday my water pump failed & took out the serpentine belt & fan. Luckily I was only about 40 miles from home & was able to have the car recovered to my home at a cost of €50 on the next day (Monday morning).

Had another look at the headlight adjuster. I had found the right lever! I can see something moving but I've no clue which is the right way. The book says flick the lever opposite to how it left the factory!! That's no use as one is up and one is down.
