Hi, I know this ain't exactly a freelander problem but as its a freelander I own I guessed this would be the best place to start! So I'll start with a little back story; about 13 months ago the prop snapped on the freelander and I sent it to a local garage to be prepared and like a complete numpty forgot to check that the key to my locking wheel nuts was there!!!! Such an amateur mistake I know!!! God damn garages it's not like they are professionals or anything lol!!! Well I recently changed a tire and found out the key was missing, luckily the very helpful mechanic managed to force the lockin wheel nut off! And replace it with a normal nut! Now I need to force the rest off so I can replace them with the full set I just got from my local land rover garage! Any ideas? (I am not a mechanic or do I know any in a personal basis!) and to make things worse the car is sold and being picked up Monday!!!!! Sorry for the essay!

I'm puzzled as to why you have bought a whole new set - presumably with a different key/tool - when as far as I can make out you only needed to buy a new key/tool and one matching locking nut.

If you go to any LR dealer they will sell you the appropriate key on its own - you don't need to know the key-code - they have them all.

I had a similar problem with our lass's Mondeo .. smashed a 19mm impact socket fully on with a lump hammer and it worked a treat .. nackered it after the last one mind, but it was cheap, quick and easy.

take it to a local landy and ask if they can swap them for you , they have all the locking nut bits

We were in a hurry and had a new set ready to go on .. couldn't be arsed to chase round looking for a key at the Ford place in town ..
