I have a Freelander 2 2007 model and I'm have problems locking and un-locking with key fob.
The fob has been replaced and new from Landrover and has been matched to car and does work.
I took it to my local Landrover dealer and they did fault checks on it.
Comes up with.
B-1024 Start control unit,B-1026 Steering column lock,B-10A2 Crash input,B-1D21 Remote control switch.
They said this shouldn't effect the locking system,Is this true?
If not what are these faults?
I had them cleared and seemed to work ok then has started playing up again.
I have done this a couple of times at another garage also.
If you keep trying and trying with the fob you do get in eventually but is a pain each time having to do it to get it locked or un-locked.
Sometimes just use emergency key and set the alarm off to get in as is easier.
It has been like this for a couple of months, sometimes is ok for ages then will start playing up.
Can anyone help?

Do you only have 1 remote? If you have 2 does it do it with both?

I think the B-1D21 Remote control switch might be something to do with buttons on the steering wheel for the 'stereo' - rather than your remote fob.

If it works sometimes and not others with nothing changing in between - its not going to be a code disabling anything.

If it was a F1 I'd say it was the IR pickup - ie the antena that picks up the fob signal and sends the signal to the security computer (CCU).

As its an F2, there could be all sorts of other electronic wizardry I don't know about.

Thank you,I thought it might be an antenna that's not picking up the key fob signal,
Does anyone know where it might pick up the signal?
Thought might be a loose connection to it or a short.

Does it play up in the same location every time or is it variable?

Does everything else work ok when in the car after remote locking doesn't work?

When it's playing up can you turn on the headlights or open tailgate from the remote?

B1D21 is associated with the rolling code being out of sync and is reset by starting the car.

Need the last 2 digits for the other fault codes to determine exactly what's going on

Check out the RF receiver it's mounted above the rear interior light - might be worth trying a new one

Thanks for all above, there is as a sensor in the roof above front seat head rests but not where rear interior light.
I have pulled these both down and can't see anything loose but can't tell if not working.
seems to be nothing works with remote fob,it is only just a year old as had others play up and couldn't open car a year ago.
I was wondering how you tell if they are charged or not as they might have gone flat.
I have tried the other two fobs I have with no luck but does start with them.
Couple of times I have disconnected the battery and touched terminals and all ok again for a while !!!

The sensor above the front seats is the interior scanning for the alarm

The RF receiver for the remotes is above the rear interior light the other side of the headlining and not visible without removing the rear interior light
