After starting my 110 last night and switching on the lights with the light switch the side lights came on ok, but when i then proceeded to switch the full lights on nothing happened.

Today i tried changing both head lights with no success, i also checked the fuses under the drivers side seat and again everything looked ok.

my full beams still work when i pull back on the stalk, and when the switch for the lights are engaged the dash light goes out as well.

Any ideas guys...

P.S... I also have a squeeking noice when driving in the rain or damp, it disappears when its dry and if i turn the steering wheel even slightly it disappears too.

Could this be the swivel pin joints needing a one shot grease jobbie.....

thanks Colin

Most likely the dipper switch on column is buggered, it is easy switch to remove and test.

trust you to be different, generally squeeks disappear when its raining and damp. No it will not be your swivel pins.

Coln18,

Have a look at my most recent threds and I bet if you follow those your problems will be over.
Try check though first that you do not have a simple earth at your headlights, run an earth from the headlight to a clean metal strongpoint - though listening to your problems, I suspect that your Dim/Dip relay has packed up - and for that follow my recent threads and you'll easily see what to do to overcome the problem, but do not go off and spend money on a new relay - you do not need to

cheers

Lights common problem unit on steering column needs replacing (not cheap for size of part) fLandy would cost £100k if all parts where that expensive:(
