So, I'm looking at getting a 1986 Land Rover Santana 109 "Turbo," but I'm having some concerns. Looking up replacement parts seems to be impossible, and I'm not sure where the vehicle fits. Is it a Series or is it a Defender? What accessories would work on it? Would newer Defender rims fit on it?

Thanks for any help.

it's a 110 if it's an 86 - most "normal" landy parts will fit

why not a buy a defender in the first place??

It seems as though the Defender did not make it's way into Spain until early 90s. U.S. import requirements state that a vehicle cannot be imported unless it's 25 years or older, unless it's specifically a 1993 Defender 110 TDI. Even at that, it would still cost me about $10,000 to have the vehicle imported. Now, I could buy a Defender 110 or even a Santana in the U.S., but it would cost me upwards of $30,000. So, I could either get one while I'm here and pay 75% less and have the vehicle shipped for free, or wait until I get back to the U.S.;)

No worries, I should have stated. ;)

Sean- Thanks, that's actually better news to me than it being a Series. I'll post some pics up after I speak to the seller a bit more.

Accessories-wise, could I use 110? And suggestions on part-sellers? I know of Paddock's and Rovers North.
