Hi folks, I'm selling my Land Rover Discovery 2, 7 Seat Pursuit. I used it to tow my 6.5 metre RIB, but since I've just sold my boat I no longer need it and I could use the space that it takes. I am the second owner having bought it from the LR dealer Gordon Lambs at Chesterfield as a 3 year old with 30,000 miles. It has now got 125k on the clock and is in excellent nick for it's age.

June 2004 (04), Monaco blue. Land Rover tow pack, Auto Hill Descent, Auto Traction Control, PAS. Good Michelin radial tyres, new clutch and rear suspension air bags installed last year. New battery installed this year.
Completely standard and in excellent condition. Regularly serviced and all repairs carried out by Land Rover specialists Durham 4x4 with copies of invoices available. Just passed her MOT which is valid until July 23, 2016.

She is sound underneath and any inspection is welcome.

Vehicle now sold. Thanks for your enquiries.

Hi Biggeeeee. Yes, chassis is really good. She's never failed an MOT. When I got her tested last year I thought, she's 10 years old, they're bound to find something wrong. I was really pleased when the mechanic just handed me the MOT certificate. I asked him what he thought of it and he said he couldn't find anything to fail it on. She's in really good nick. I've only done about 3k miles since the last MOT, but I used her to deliver my boat to Colchester from Durham about 8 weeks ago (600+ miles) and she was no bother whatsoever.

Done some price research since then. It's one of the last Discovery 2's and in nice nick. Check out other Discos on the tinterweb. There's a lot of 2002s and 2003s priced a lot more than this. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

You will regret selling it, if its that good.
The Discovery II is going to be the next classic.

I plan to re-chassis my 51 plate when the time comes

I know what you mean. I've struggled with the thought of getting rid of it because it's such a practical vehicle. But I have a company car now which means I hardly ever use my Disco. I'm concerned that it will deteriorate through lack of use. I've only done 6k miles since January 2014. Wouldn't be so bad if I could get it in my garage, but while my garage is large, the doors are too low to get the disco under them. Might need to dig two trenches under the doors :)

No excuse, I built my double garage to suit two Discoveries:)

When I bought mine I did a lot of looking and to my mind, judging from the ones I looked at, age was no indication of condition underneath. Some of the later ones I looked at from family homes with road use only were shot. Like with classic cars you buy on condition as opposed to age. good luck with your sale.

Sorry was that sarcasm I detected? Don't think I was in anyway dismissing your car. I was just saying don't judge your own price on others you may see or let buyers try and influence you by pointing out newer cars that may be cheaper.

Right,,,, She's now MOT'd through until 23rd July, 2016.

She's a 7 seater TD5 Discovery, in lovely condition. I need the space so I'm open to reasonable offers. I think first to see her will buy her!
