Sorry if its been covered but did a search for "K&N" and got Zilch. The upshot is, a mate witha very similar 300tdi has recently had a K&N fitted, as well as getting rid of the Cat and EGR. I could not believe the difference in performance compared to mine. I have got rifd of the EGR and cat and was considering a K&N filter and a tweak of the pump. The K&N he has fitted is the cone shaped induction type. The ones I've seen are the replacement type which goes straight in the airbox. Considering I don't go off road very much, which do you think is the best option? I am hoping for a boost in performance and a few MPGs extra would be nice.

I do remember posting about them but that was back in April. I typed in K&N in the search box but for some reason drew a blank. Just after an opinion thats all. It seemed to make a big difference to the one I saw.

Its cuz the search needs to be longer then 3 letters;)

Nope try expensive filter
:p
james they are good for any engine mate, i always use ram air cone filters myself, they are pure foam as opposed to paper, always gave me a noticably revvier engine, only thing is if yer like the sound then youll put yer foot down more to hear it and yer fuel consumption will go down the pan, when ever yer wash it always make sure yer apply a certain grease to it to help filter ****e, but other than that rev then go for it, just buy a second hand one and give it a good wash, if yer still keeping yer standard air box then ittle prob sound louder as it echo's, cant say for the 300tdi, some cars take to them some dont as much, but in opinion then go for it :D

sirus yer c*unt yer can see yer aggravated him first time round :D
wouldnt mind he aint even a neeuuuuuuuwwwwwwbiiiieeeeeeeee!

the replies yu have had are all trying to be helpful...........

BB gave yu a couple of links to previous threads and
Sirus told yu, quite correctly, that the search facility will not work with words of 3 characters or less so "K&N" will not work - neither will "air" or "EGR", but "filter" will.
now why dont yu get of yo high horse, thank them for trying to help as best they can and try again?

Thanks Raz, thats all I wanted, I don't mind all the daft messages as long as I get some helpful info along the way. Not offended by any of the daft replies either. I know what you mean about the sound. The one I tried today sounded great, and definitely more low down power up hills etc.

Mad Hat man, I am not on a high horse but merely trying to get higher horses under the bonnet!

Not that many valleys on Anglesey apart from the place called valley.
