but it's not THAT bad ffs !
thats what i thought, a 13 year old car with a rusting arch edge ? never !! lol
but..as stated i did have a good uneducated granted, look around, i knoww t rust is , and couldnt see anything bad anywhere else and it looked good underneath, but anyway, weree going round in circles now until its looked right over properly and i deliver the verdict, you al may be laughing if it proves a dud, but il be releived not to have wasted my money n moving on to the next find n posting more, but i may also get green light and told shes a goodun and the wings been done to a good decent standard and properly, and everything else is ok, and il have a nice disco , who knows
There was me thinking this was a Landy forum/thread, silly me. Stu, did the OP buy his Disco in the end? Cant be arsed to read it all again
i dont really think ive abused anyone at all, lets not argue, i took it all on the chin and had some banter, i actualy would eat some humble pie..
had i not driven home my new lando disco and parked it outside my house
to be really honest ,im chuffed to bits i knew she was a goodun when i looked over it i knew it, i covered juicyv8`s fuel expenses and he kindly drove down and picked me up and took me over there...
he looked her over externaly and agreed yes it looks lovely inside and out, the arch had been repaired to a good solid standard, and also the other side had been touched up also, didnt really need it but was nice of them so sort that out properly
rear floor...got the trim off, carpet up...all lovely and original and solid, slight bit of surface rust around the very edge but absoloutly nothing to worry about, no big rust no holes it was fine
he looked around underneath and said yes shes nice and solid, only as i mentioned just the odd as expected (on a 13 year old car) bit of surface rust here n there and nothing to worry about underneath or anything bad, all the inner arches and inner wings are nice and solid and straight as they should be
all the numbers on it etc are fine and in the right places, engine looked n sounded and idled fine as it should, he said it idles lovely, oil etc all fine , he took it for a test drive and drove around checking everything, everything works as it should , drives straight, breaks straight, no knocks or noises or clunks or anything
all electrics etc all work
he said...its a nice one,its solid, drives nice, agreed with what i said that it looks like its been well maintained and looked after and not had an off road type life, and that the diff lock a little stiff coz its probably not been used much, you have nothing to worry about !!!! , i said...well anything we can do to get some ££ knocked off ?? ...he said....i cant fault it, hes probably paid £14/1500 on a px, done the work on the arches n changed that belt etc, gave it a good clean, hes not gonna be making a lot on it, BUY IT !!! i said you sure ??? YES BUY IT its a nice disco !!
so i bought it with a smile on my face, handed over the money and shook the mans hand and drove it home with the biggest of grins, and im now a paid up member of the disco inferno club
thanks to eveyone for the help and advice in this thread, you all gave me a lot to think about, and a bit of worry, but i really appriciate the help and making me really think, and thanks to juicy top lad !!! im sure hel be along somewhen this evening to post his thoughts on it....! im happy ive got myself a disco baby !!!! :crazy_driver::drum::violent:
