It will definitely be a money pit but so is life so I might as well tip my savings into something fun!
Anyway, I can start by just purchasing a 110 pick-up and lowering it.
The bobtail can be done in a weekend I reckon with a stihl saw and a welder.
other things are superficial and can be added later.

you are good with aluminum

So you have lost several points and on your way to a Q plate, A defender box is different than a series box

as said depends how stupidly pathetic they're feeling………

engine mounts are in the original place but a block welded on top with the correct bolt spacing

gearbox mount I may modify the box mounts itself with some plate and extend them to the series crossmember instead of putting in a new one but lets face it…….pretty ridiculous list they could get you for.

in theory they could get you for having underseal on it, welding repair patches in, new cross members not from landrover, bolt on bits that require drilling of chassis parts, welding in a winch tray, new spring mounts or drop shock mounts and so on

You cant put firstly then not have a point to go with it!

And secondly more or less all then! Especially old ones! Any weld on rock sliders etc would remove the chassis points, bolt on goodies, new engine mounts for engine swaps etc………the list of pedantic stupidity is huge when you think about it

not me but the guy sent me a vid of him running it before I went to collect :p it sounded nice[/QUOTE

could of been a bait and switch, hookus ..... pookus , now you see it now you don't we give the guy a non runner. could happen:rolleyes::jaw:

Repairs that do not alter the structure of the chassis are not mods. besides which, why would you just weld a patch over a hole? Surely you would cut out the rotten section and weld a new piece in flush with the original chassis rail.:confused:

most would but some don't!

you've seen the kind of repairs some on ebay have

and you've still changed the structure of the chassis if you weld in a flush piece, but still even fitting a fog light bracket to the underside of the crossmember would count as a mod……..

See its not actually me………..its the merkin!

Then he proves how silly america are :p or how much they love denial :D

Blame it on the merkins every one else does:mil79::violent::violent::violent:

You are good with excuses, they are just like arse holes everyone has One. And buy fook you have been blessed haven't you

I say go for it. But a freelander would fit the look best. If you just mean a slammed pickup look towards jap pickups for inspiration much much nicer and much more to the shape of a defender.
