I am thinking of buying a p38 with lpg . can anyone tell me if this causes problems with the insurance companies ? I will make sure that it comes with a certificate to prove it was fitted correctly .

Mine dropped by 1p when I said it was lpg'd. Ended up getting a non lpg motor and insurance is 1p more. That had a safety cert with it though but my insurance said without they wouldnt cover any lose due to malfunction of the lpg kit.

My first insurance company didn't. (Lancaster) but next one said they may need to see it (sure term) think they are sister companys

My insurance company, Admiral wanted to see the Certificate as did the DVLA but no problems.
My insurance company offered extra cover to protect the LPG system in the event of a claim.
If the claim was as a result of the lpg system, then the basic insurance covered the repair but not the repair to the lpg system as it is an after market addition.
A small extra premium covered the lpg system.

Admiral insisted that my Vehicle was put on the LPG Register for which you need to send them the document that show it was completed by a competant installer. All the details are on the UK LPG Register website

lpg certificates are no longer issued or asked for.they have to be registered on the lpg database. this can be checked online
