Hi all,

Just a quick question. Has anyone ever put a HSE interior into an SE? Both vehicles are 2007.

I’m looking at putting the the full black leather interior from the HSE into the SE to replace the half and half that’s in there. The black leather is full spec with full electrical adjustment including memory settings and heated, with the SE being the usual part electrical adjustment, also heated but without the memory settings.

I suppose what I’m asking is will the SE take the HSE interior and allow full functionality without having to mess around with wiring?

Thanks in advance.

The answer i suppose depends on what the SE loom plugs under the seats are, is it the full loom so it would be just a plug & play swap, you need to check.

It is technically possible, but the wiring is different between between HSE and SE.
I'm also looking to change the interior of MY SE at some point, when one comes up cheap and local. However I'll change the seat controls over, so it remains electric adjustment, without the memory function, which is of limited value to me, and definitely not worth wiring changes, and programming required.

Hi Guys,

So a quick update, and a positive one at that.

As I had already removed the HSE’s interior, as I’m scrapping the vehicle, I thought I’d quickly whip the drivers seat out of the SE and give the other one a try to see what, if any functionality was present. As it turns out everything works adjustment wise, the heat works and surprisingly the memory function works too. So a simple plug and play it would seem.

A point worthy of note though is that the 7mm bolt that holds the connector block together must be done up. I didn’t do this at first everything was dead and I thought that it was a lost cause. I done the bolt up just to see and bang, everything working. I’m assuming that the bolt is part of the earthing system.

I’m wondering if because the age of both vehicles are so close together and that they are early FL2’s, a 56 and a 57 plate, maybe LR initially went down the route of fitting generic looms, catering for all specs.

Maybe that's correct. So that's good news for me, when I fit leather memory seats. :)
