How does the dash come apart?

I may be able to tell you in a couple of days as the radio apature in mine has been opened up by the previous owner so my CD player just falls straight through the hole :(
Ive got a couple of enquiries with breakers at the moment for a replacement so as soon as I get a bit more info I`ll let you know.
I like the look of that Walnut one though, that looks like a direct replacement part & not a stick on................but Im usually wrong!

from what I recall, when I fitted my hands free kit, you pull the heater knobs off, and there are a couple of screws behind the knobs, undo these and persuade the panel out.

as for the radio aperture being large, some freelanders (mine included) don't come with a radio chassis cage like most cars so the radios can move about. Radios for these had wings that came out driven by allan screws to hold it tight. I ended up looking a right tit when I rang the previous owner and asked him where the cage had gone.

Is it me or does this piece seem expensive. I'm sure I have seen the whole kit on the net for little over that price.

It's a replacement for the centre console which gives a much better look than the stick on kits. As a result, it's more expensive. It's going to go with a walnut gearknob, handbrake handle and part walnut steering wheel.

some people have no consideration or idea that any one might own the car after them. I all for doing what suits, but sometimes, you have to ask if there isn't a whole better way of getting to where you want to be.

How many fiestas, escorts, astras, capris etc with carved up door panels and parcel shelves. Good at the time until you take the stereo out. Did it myself when I was younger, but never again !

Got the dash trim. Went for dark wood instead of walnut. Too damn hot for sodding about inside a car today though!! Still, got it done.

rriggs, how easy was it ta do then ? break any plastic lugs?

Main dash piece was very easy as it just fitted over the existing dash. The trim around the gearshift was not hard but was annoying as one of the metal clips dropped into the hole and I couldn't reach it. Good job I married a girl with skinny arms and small hands - Knew she'd come in useful one day...
