Okay so today I have made
2 country style loafs of bread
1 gluten free bread- still cooking
And with our daughter I have made

1 fruit cake
2 sponges
cowboy cookie mix she got from play school

Been quite an evening as after the fruit cake I thought she would have had enough- but she wanted to do a chocolate sponge and cookies as well.

then I ended going out to sort someone's electrical problem as well -fortunately after I had tidied up the kitchen :D

I've made two cakes today for someone :)

Seeing as I considered I may get stranded for cake late at night I had a cooking bonanza:D food processor takes all the hard work out of it and the dishwasher washes up:D

Made a gallon of fish stock, it has to be just about the most gross thing you can do in a kitchen, couldn't resist popping an eye out for the doris "This'll see you through the week"

I baked biscuits on the wood stove in a (new to us) antique enameled roaster. I've been looking for a way to bake on it for a couple years now, but finding the right contraption has taken awhile.

Don't forget

biscuit (UK) = cookie (US) (sweet) cracker (US) (savoury)

biscuit (US) = something to mop up gravy, possibly a cobbler or some kind of savoury scone (UK)

My last attempt at crumpets...

Food processor with dough blade and silicon spatula for any mixture that sticks to side of bowl. Ingredients to hand and it is as easy to make several as it is to make one.

Okay, can you let me know the recipe for Gluten Free bread please?

I'm not at home at the moment, I will be experimenting-the packet from Julian graves as a basis it comes out like Crumpets.
I have researched the gluten free bread and considered the following
Potato flour
Rice flour
Xanthan gum
Agar flour
Olive oil

I'm going to experiment as most gluten free bread isn't like the crusty bloomer- I think that less olive oil and some xanthan gum as a binding agent-in my opinion gluten free bread suffers from too much grease and not enough binding and raising agents.

Holy grail is a gluten free crusty bloomer at a similar price

Them crumpets look good - just need soaking in butter and honey......

I've just finished a 6 hour slow cook chilli in the tagine, home made flatbreads and home made guacomole... maybe we ought to have a recipe swap sticky??
