i really want to name and shame but .......A) we live in a small village where a 'campaign of hate' has already been waged against us , we moved into this area a few years ago and have never been accepted locally . we have had pets killed , my shogun sabotaged , my water supply messed with , dog faeces thrown into my garden and my wife has been physically threatened while i have been working away from home (i'm a mechie contractor) , thelist goes on and on . and B) the garage is normally good , we've used them many times with no problems ....but they now have someone working there that we've encountered before . we stopped using his previous employer because a CHISEL was wedged into the steering knuckle on one of my wifes old cars that they had just serviced ! and instead of putting a new tyre onto the same car , they put an innertube into it and it popped at 75mph the next day on the m4 with my wife and kids in the car .

i would chec gearbox oil too i cant see what would be gained with a hole there the only thing that would give access to is cluch cover bolts, does it look like new clutch fitted i would certainly get someone to look over vehicle to see if any other bodges

Go and see the garage owner and show him the hole, tthen At least you've offered him the chance to get it sorted. As for the not been welcome in the village I lived in Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales for about 8years. ButI didn't get anywhere near the hassle you're getting. Mainly because I made it obvious to the idiots that they were small fish in an even smaller pond. & I'd poison their pond if I got any **** off em.

Clutch fork and pushrod.?? too lazy to dismantle when they realised it wasn't working.

ok , how do i check the gearbox oil ? and is it just ATF used in the gearbox ? as i have lots of that for my shogun/pajeros .

thanks for all the advice so far btw . you're a good lot and we really appreciate it .

you could reach either from there, they usually cut hole in housing behind where slave sits for those, allthough you can refit rod without clip through slave hole as is std

forgot if they have actually had box out and changed clutch ,the engine probably dropped forward and pulled turbo hose off would account for power loss passenger side

Ok if that was me I would be locked up, for going on a vengeance spree. I'm all for take your grievance up with me but to involve wife and kids then me gloves would come off. as for some of the shenanigans that have gone on why have you not informed the old bill

old bill have been informed everytime , but being useless as they are , have done absolutely nothing

and i'm rather afraid to take the gloves off as i WILL end up behind bars and that leaves my wife open to whatever else the crazy locals want to throw at her . i'm an ex kickboxer (9yrs) who swings 14lb hammers for a living and on top of that , i'm on meds for my psychotic disposition :D . i'e a very good idea who is responsible and my patience has been worn VERY thin . i'm actually tempted to stop the meds for a while 'to see what comes of it ' lol.

going to order some wireless security cams later on this evening , so i know exactly who to swing the peining hammer at .......

can someone please give me a little info on this turbo pipe ? so i can check it out in the morning . i'm going away to work again on tues and the wife will need the car until i can get a top-seal for the fuel pump in my other shogun and put it in her name .

and just so you all know ....... i do prefer the green oval to the three red diamonds , but i'm a mingebag and the mitsis run happily on veg oil as standard . i'll be looking for a 90 in the summer tho and putting a second tank in the boot .

on the passenger side of engine the turbo has hose with elbow which goes forward to bottom of intercooler at side of rad and another that comes from top back to inlet manifold, its easy for these to pull off ,you can use either 6mm if std or 7mm socket on hose clips often easier than screw driver

I hope you never go thru any water, coz that hole will allow your clutch to fill with muddy ****e.

It is disgusting and yu should take the matter up with trading standards.

the disco wont be getting muddy as its my wife's car , i'll be using a mk1 pajero in the mud for the time being . and depending on how many contracts i get this year , i should be looking for a playful little 90 sometime around august :)

afternoon all .

just got to the bottom of the power-steering problem . where the two 'hard-lines/pipes' run behind the lower edge of the front bumper , the upper of the two has been punctured . from where i was laying underneath the car earlier it looked like a screwdriver has been used to pry the two lines/pipes away from each other as the 'puncture' is linear (like a flat head driver)

can i cut away the damaged few inches and patch with some fuel hose or similar as a temporary fix ? and if yes , is there a procedure for bleeding the steering fluid or is it just a case of top up / refill ?

you dont really need to bleed pas system it has return pipe ,low pressure retiurn can be repaired with hose and clips as long time repair pressure side cant

just got back inside from 'bodging' the pas line that was broken . not really sure if it was the high pressure line or the low presure line . all i know is that if you're laying under the landy with your feet sticking out the front , of the two lines that run along the bottom edge of the bumper , the upper line was split .

had a good look at the steering pump and found a nipple on top , bled her and all seems well . topped up with some spare atf from when i last serviced my swb shogun . topped bled topped bled etc .

when doing that i found a few bolts floating around the engine bay which appeared to be from the exhaust manifold , put them back in , nipped them up and the wife says there seems to be a bit more power now . so hopefully that prob is sorted too .

just going to have a quick wash then i'll take it out to see for myself .

thanks for all the help everyone . we really do appreciate it . and as the wife wants to keep this landy ........i think you'll probably be hearing from us again fairly soon .

jamie .

as James said previously, have you checked that one of the turbo hoses hasn't been pulled loose? as this can cause serious power loss.

to be honest , engines aren;t really my thing right now but i;m learning pretty quickly. i'm trained to work on pumps and valves . so finding the turbo hoses is a bit much at the moment . if someone could give me a pic to point me in the right direction then i'll definately give it a go . i'm well up for getting this car sorted now .

after re-bolting the exhaust manifold , the car did manage to get into 5th whilst driving uphill on the a465 between gilwern and brynmawr . the wife informed me that she couldn't get it past 3rd yesterday on the same stretch without it losing power .
