Right, basically I just tried to start my 200tdi up again after driving it this morning.

There is no power when I turn the key, no lights come up. The horn or lights won't work either. I just used a vacuum through the cigar lighter so presume I've blown a fuse but all the fuses inside the car are fine.

Can anyone tell me if I have fuses under the bonnet or somewhere else I can check?

Any help appreciated. James

I may be being blind but cant see any fuse board on the left under the bonnet, can anyone be a bit more exact?

Cheers, luckily ive got tools with me, so i will check all earths etc now.

if its a Disco (in the Disco section) therre are no fuses under the bonnet - there are fusible links along the drivers side wing. if yu follow the wiring back from the battery towards the bulkhead, there is a group of wires about 6" forward of the bulkhead, covered in asbestossy type material. these are not easily changed :(

the best thing to do is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (section deleted in the interests of security) and then try jump starting it.

the best thing to do is to run a wire direct from the battery to the fuel pump (via a switch) and then try jump starting it.

My 300Tdi has fuses and fusible links under the bonnet in the fusebox by the expansion tank.

Right, all done, was a bad earth, just happened it showed itself at the exact moment I hoovered off the cigar lighter.

I had checked the battery voltage, first thing I did after checking it was still there, lots of undesirables around and wouldn't be the first time I've looked and there was no battery.

Thanks for all the help
