Hi All,

Mega long shot, but the forums are a good place to start as any...
Does anyone know there whereabouts of an old SIII SWB petrol with the reg NRB 362P (picture attached)

The DVLA has it marked as SORN and has done for a couple of years, so someone out there must be renewing this every year.
But there doesn't seem to be a legal way i can request the owners address..

The reason i'm looking for it ? Well i used to own her, I lernt to drive in her, and a few other memorys from my formative years. I sold her to a friend (stupidly) when i was younger and looking for slicker/faster cars, I then know she went to auction at chesterfield car auctions some time around 2004 (i soooo wish id bought her back then)

I'd love to own the little beast again, but i'd settle for just meeting its current owner.

Can anyone help ??

If it were me id advertise in enthusiast magazines like classic landrover or LRO ! A Sorn is no longer required to be renewed annually, therefore the present owner will no longer receive a reminder from DVLA! I wish you luck in your search and sympathize as I too have regrets for having sold a vehicle in the past. Regards. Chris

Cheers for the info re. SORN no longer needing to be renewed, its been a few years since i had cars on a SORN, and it confused the hell out of my local DVLA office when i sent 2 renewals for 2 minis with similar reg numbers in the same envelope!

Ive done a HPi check and shes not showing as being scrapped, so there is still some hope :)

I may go down the advert route in the magazines, might be worth it to find out !

Cheers again, Dave

Maybe wrong but aren't the old reggies indicative of counties? The first three letters used to code them. Might help narrow ur search.

hi John,

Yes the old reg lettering was an indication of the local DVLA office that issued the numberplate (in this case when it was issued 1st april 1976)

But in 39 years its highly likely a car may have moved away from that area.
I do know it spent at least from early 90s till 2003 in the chesterfield / Matlock - Derbyshire area.

Previous owner to us used her as a towing truck for his caravan, during there ownership the rear crossmember was replaced.
