I have read a few threads on this problem but wanted to start a new one as mine all came on when off roading so not sure if this could be different

Last week I went through some water about 18 to 24 inches deep and tc and abs lights came on, We stopped for some lunch and when started up they had both gone off

Today been to a pay and play day in a quarry and all 3 came on after some heavy articulation and later on in the day the brake warning light came on
Got home and had a look underneath and a cable was disconnected, fixed this and brake warning gone out but all 3 amigos still on

My anti roll bar link arm has snapped ( one near ACS damper) not sure if this could affect things

Please can anyone throw an light ( excuse the punn) on what could be the cause as sure the off roading is not helping

Thanks

Thanks i'll have a look for signs if damage and re check the plug in connection etc
How big a job is it to replace this cable ? Does sensor need replacing too or can you just do the cable ?

thanks
I'll have a look and let you know how I get on, also noticed ACE fluid is low so will top this up and see if makes any difference ?? you never know ??

hi I have a td5 on a 98 plate and the tc and abs light as come on but it go's off some times can anybody help

The on-going problem of the three amigos has haunted many of us. My system was showing an intermittent shuttle valve fault, so what to do? First check and clean all the sensors, next follow cables to all joints which may have come loose or dirty, clean all with a suitable spray cleaner and then re-check the system. Try disconnecting the battery and re-connecting after a minute. This will re-set the system and may clear the fault. I found a company who will overhaul and repair the ABS unit for under £200 and return it with a lifetime guarantee; problem is that you must remove the unit and send it to them for repair which takes 7 working days. PM me for contact details...

Repairing the Abs Modulator is an one hour job with basic tools and if you are willing spend a few pounds for new shuttle valves. It is less work then completely remove the unit and send it away.

Did it on three Discos and the Amigos did never return since.

A complete power flush and refil of braking system solved my 3 amigos problem after LR told me I needed a new modulator and shuttle valves. Shysters.

Had mine happen after a faultless 200 mile trip read the codes and it was where I had disturbed the abs sensor during a disk change where are you located someone near you may have a nanocom or hawkeye

I get the three lights occasionally, usually if I have to brake hard,
I recently replaced the pads and rear discs, (I don't know if that's relevant though)
Can anybody advise why this is happening? Braking action seems ok.

Hi:
TD 5. I replaced front caliper and ,disc and pads front RHS, and pads Front LHS.
Everything works fine, but3 amigos plus handbrake light are on.
Do you need to reset computer after doing this work?

none of those would effect the warning lights ,only wheel bearing /sensor will do that at the axle

maybe you disturbed a sensor or it's wiring when you did the job...now you need tester to see which one...unless the 3 amigos were there before that, then it might be other issue too not necessarily sensor related... as said those parts you've replaced have nothing to do with the warnings
