Did a bit more than the headlight and indicator Simon , the bonnet wouldnt open at first then the surrounding metal behind the headlight was all bent in had use a strop and my house to pull it straght, ish then out with various hammers to try and get it somwhere near straight, the bottom of the grill that holds the indicator bottom was smashed, managed to get a headlight and indicator from AJS so at least it looks ok, but still needs more fettling, lol never mind its all fixable. You can lead next time !

It's a real bitch man, I think I need to get some bull bars before I go in front lol. Have you got that guys details, do you think he'll pay up?

**** sorry to hear that mate, I hope you can get it all straightened out without too much expense. Which Numptey hit you? Also sorry I missed your call last Sunday, I was at the pool watching my boy swim a 1500m race and didn't notice the missed call until late.

Yes i got his details so hopefully he will be ok or my hammer might get used lol, He seemed genuinly sorry so we shall see.
Never mind Wayne you missed a good run, dont know who he was just another guy on the lane, unfortunately my winch bumper was slightly lower than his bumper so it rode up over it into the headlight, any other day without the snow he would have stopped just one of those things, simon tried to climb that small hill we normally have a go at and got himself turned 90% across the lane and couldnt go anywhere lucky enuf another 4x4 came up behind us and pulled him from his towbar and got him straightened up as i think being in front and icy and slightly uphill i wouldnt have been able to pull him round unless i attached the winch to a tree and pulled him that way lol.

hmm  ;)

I did say that it would have to be an early start if I were to be able to attend, 11 o'clock is not early, bearing in mind the usual route takes a good few hours in dry conditions, I can only imagine it would take considerably longer in the snow. I also hate having to rush things and my enjoyment would be spoilt if I were having to be concious of the time the whole route.

The reason for the early start was due to my kids, who swim competitively and were at the County Championships, being a supportive Dad, i was there cheering them on.

We ended up going to the pool earlier than I had originally anticipated, which is a shame as it meant missing out on some snow play.

I hope you accept my excuse but if a letter from my Mum would be better then I am sure I can get one :)

The committed father, putting his own life to one side to support his kids. A fine upstanding thing to do, I cannot question your motives or integrity, or have anything but respect for your actions.

I salute you sir ! :D

Hope to catch up next time :)

Sounds like a missed an eventful days laning. I'm hoping to better equip my Landy over the next few weeks and once done, will be keen to get off the tarmac for some fun.

You've got a lovely wagon mate, what more does it need for a bit of mild laning?

It's not exactly scaling everest !

Cheers mate, I want to add a snorkel / wading kit / steering guard etc for starters. When we went to Salisbury last November I saw how much fun could be had wading through mud and water, so I want to get mine prepped ready for the next outing. Nothing too extreme but that thought may change :D

If you are out today, AVOID Coldharbour lane uptowards the Cricket Pitch. I doubt you will make it without studed tyres! I made it halfway up and almosted touch cloth when I started sliding back down on Friday...

Any suggestions of Alton lanes then? I will be in the area on the weekend.

Finally got my disco mechanically sound, so ready for the next meet.

I'm from Hindhead maxac, with a non modded disco, PM me if you fancy a gentle(ish) trip out !

Could do a couple of hours Saturday afternoon possibly... nufin too tricky but mite be scratchy (in fact I know it will be ;) ) Need to do some chores but if there's interest and I get a day release from SWMBO :ballchain:, I'll see wot I can do

And for the regulars... I'm thinking of just a bit of my usual run :D

To the south of Basingstoke then down towards Alton. If you're interested, log your interest here and I will PM out the meet point tomorrow evening.
