bit far for me, its 1 hr 45 mins for me. thanks for the offer though mate

No worries, I'm sure we can arrange a meet nearer to you sometime soon, I'm new to this and looking to get as much experience as possible and learn from those who have been at it for a while.

what you running mud? you got any mods?

No mods yet, just a standard 2006 plate 110 station wagon, though I did get the ECU remapped a couple of weeks back. Looking to replace the tyres with something a little more aggressive in time for the snow. How about yourself?

200tdi disco with 2" lift, sliders, winch and all that good stuff. looking for a few people to do water lane again one day, if your intrested

You say you have been around Shere and Albury... Have you been down Ponds Farm Lane? I seriously doubt that you would get that Disco in your avatar down there with a front bumper :D

Sounds like this is one I need to know about!!!

Good luck with that... Went down there today, Ponds Farm and London Lane are now both shut between the 30th Septermber - 1st May. :(

If you ride a Motorbike you can still go down there... Oh and whilst they are at it they are resurfacing the whole of ponds farm lane.

Added to this, all of the dates on ponds farm are not part of the sign... just stickers, making it extremely easy for them to change it over to a permanant TRO.... I seriously doubt we will be seeing these open again :(

Yes it was, quite a few others were out using the lanes as well yesterday including an old series which looked quite cool. A bit of rain would be nice to mud the lanes up a little more. We are thinking of doing them again in the next couple of weeks at night, will make them a bit more of a challenge.

Oh yeah, I had a bit of fun running into a pedestrian around Hindhead yesterday :D

Was just entering this 'quiet lane' byway, (which was a tarmac bloody path which even had a Ford Ka parked down it!) and these two guys were walking down it. About 20 scramblers came past towards me, ahead of them. One guy smiles and waves, the other looked like he wanted to say something so I opened my window.

This posh guy in his 50-60s said to me, "can you tell me why you're coming down here?", so I said "well it's a byway open to all traffic, so I'm perfectly allowed to drive down here, as you can see on this sign", pointing to this 2ft x 1ft sign saying "quiet lane" with a picture of a car, bike and horse.

"That's not what I asked you, I asked you why you're coming down here!" he said, looking angry and raising his voice.

"Well (laughing), because I erm.. wanted to?", I replied. "Yes that's right, because you wanted to" he scornfully remarked. "Well yes, I don't actually need any other reason to! [laughing] You're walking down here because you wanted to!".

At this point he was looking really p!ssed off! He was fully shouting, red in the face, "Well then you blo*dy ar*ehole why the hell should I move out of your way?!". "I don't really understand what you're talking about to be honest!" I said. "I'm walking down here, you wanted to drive down here so I've got to get out of your way, why the hell should I get out of your way?!" he shouted.

"Well you don't have to get out of my way, you can stand in the way and I'll run you over if you'd prefer?"

He did not take kindly to that and he walked off giving it all the hand signs and calling me an ar*ehole etc :D
