Glow Plug wiring

On my 2007 D3 there are two relays that control the 12v to the glow plugs and the wiring splits into two cables with three wires in each cable loom, one for the left cylinder bank and one for the right bank. Oddly though, one relay powers four of the glow plugs and the other relay powers the remaining two. Is there a logical reason for this? I'd have thought it would be split three and three. It all works though.

There is no logic in your statement cos each relay is connected to 3 plugs, one for a bank, even the fusible links are separate for them...if on your's is not like that means thet the PO made some botch on that circuit, here's the control diagram from the WSM:

Thanks for the schematic. That is how I would expect it to be wired so looks like mine was an error during original build in 2007
 
I really doubt that it cant be such building error cos the looms which are connected to the 3 plugs are separate, each with it's own connector, if you are the first owner of that vehicle and you remove the relay or fusible link for one side but you get power in one of the plugs for the other side then it might be a short circuit in the fusebox or in the harness where each loom is connected
