Gearbox/TC problems

Ive had a problem for a while where ive had a slight vibration on the change up to top gear (automatic). Its generally at about 52mph and seemed worse under hard accelaration. It was like going over a cattle grid and only lasted a second or two. I Listened to advice on here and checked oil levels in gearbox, checked uj's, checked diffs etc all appeared ok. I thought i'd let it develop.
It has, i am now noticing quite a clunk on changing to top and then the vibration is still there. All the other gearchanges are smooth. Today i also noticed an uneven engine note at the same time (just after the change) like the engine was missing. But it only happens around the 50mph area and the lock up to top gear. In the last year i've changed the auto filter, replaced the auto oil and changed the viscous coupling. Anyone with any ideas.

At 52mph, it's not changing gear it's the torque convertor locking up.
Petrol or diesel? you sure it's the box and not the engine missfiring?
If it's the box, try another oil change and add some Lucas Transmission Fix, it might just be a sticky valve block. Otherwise it could be the torque convertor clutch failing or even the flex plate.

Sorry forgot mention it's diesel. I believe the engine problem is linked because it occurs at the exact speed and time that the Tc locks up. It's fine at all other speeds. It's like it's stuttering between the two revs before and after lock up. If that makes sense.
