Ok, so the time is coming to swap my axles over.
In the next 2 weeks (they're still on the vehicle) I will have for sale both front and rear axles removed from a 1994 Discovery 300tdi WITH ABS.

The rear axle will be MINUS the diff and half shafts but will be complete with discs, pads calipers etc. It has recently had a new pair of YRM heavy duty trailing arm brackets welded on and a 6mm Gwyn Lewis heavy duty diff pan.
It has also had recent pads and bearings.

The front axle will also be minus the diff but will include everything else inc discs, pads, calipers, CVs, half shafts etc etc. This also has a 6mm Gwyn Lewis heavy duty diff pan.
The swivel balls do not leak and it has also recently had new discs, pads and bearings. all round.

Diff pans are as per this item on eBay:
Land Rover Diff Pan Heavy Duty 1 pair gwynlewis4x4 ARB | eBay

Both diff pans are seeping oil ever so slightly from the odd bit where they were welded onto the axle, so may want grinding and tidying up a bit to stop this. The leak is barely enough to form a drip but thought it best to mention. I am assuming this is down to poor work from the guy who originally welded them on.

They are available for collection only from either Coventry or Tamworth.
I will separate the swivel balls from the front axle casing for ease of transportation and lifting.
Given the original cost of the diff pans, I would like £90 for each axle or £160 for the pair.

I have no proper pictures as yet but may do tomorrow.

I also have a bare bones, bog standard front axle casing for sale for £20.
This was also removed from a 1994 300tdi with ABS.

Just want to register interest in the swivel balls themselves, I have a feeling they may not be suitable for my 10 spline in case they are not machined correctly inside the ball itself, but seeing as I am a perpetual swivel ball snapper I am always on the lookout for good condition Teflon coated (the black ones) swivel balls in used condition (cheaper than new)

So just on the off chance these became available separately... :)

Put it this way James, I had that experience earlier in the year where the man from brig part was trying to tell me what I had bought from them previously had never been supplied by them, I think there is some confusion regards swivel balls as to what exactly is what

As you say, LR only ever made 2 designs!

Rear axle now off vehicle and fully stripped down to bare casing. Have since discovered it needs new rear shock mounts, so in light of this I've dropped the price to £50 collected.

Pic available on request. :)

I can refurb both axles to the below standard inc full acid dip and re-paint, brand new shock mount brackets, removal of shock bush cups and getting it set up on a jig to to ensure it's perfectly straight after the masses of welding heat it's endured at every point of the axle, but I'll be after £250 per casing if I go down this route.

Do you mean front and rear axles or just rear?

Rear axle is available with all associated parts inc calipers which I forgot to mention but does exclude diff and half shafts.
Front axle also available minus diff and half shafts.

In light of rear shock mounts being duff, I'll do the whole lot for £120, or will split at £60 per axle.

Oh ok mark that's great, thanks :)

If your calipers fit 10 spline knuckles then I'm good to go as I am anyway!!

Regards axles Jimbo, the rover stuff is fine for most people tbh!
