HI I'm new to Land Rover Zone, And to Land rover's :D
I Currently have a Freelander 1 1999 TD2 Diesel

I'm having trouble starting,
It was all was good until I stop at the shop, lock the car with key, after 10 min came back unlocked the car with key, when i turn the key to start the engine nothing happened, no dash lights turning on, no sound of ignition.
tried to use the remote to turn the alarm on and off, but wont work nothing happened.

I though it's the battery because I had to jump the car the day before to start the car.
Just bought a new battery but did not help. still no dashboard Lights, no ignition, nothing

I have tested the Hazard lights and head lights are working fine, no sign of drained battery.

Is it the immobilizer? or something ells?

try renewing remote batteries first press unlock 3 times to resync if that doesnt work try to get key reprogrammed .In the instrument panel is a red flashing light should see this flash slowly when a valid immobilisation code is received hope this helps

Hi its a Manuel
Thanks malcolm1323, will reprogram the key, have tried to press unlock 3 times to resync nothing happened.
Thank you Lisbeth

HI all, just an update on the starting problems,
You wont believe what the problem was...
It was only the main fuse of the ignition
I checked every thing except the main fuses in the engine
Now the Land Rover is back
