freelander roof rack

i wondered if anyone can help me i just bought this roof rack and i dont know how to fit it onto my 2001 5 door freelander is there anyway way i can fit it onto the roof but as low down as possible? thanks

if you look, two of the cross rails are longer than the rest and protrude past the outer edge of the roof rack. You need the end fittings off a set of cross rails, which fit to the ends of these rails, and then they clamp on the longitudinal roof bars which run front to back.

I think he wants to bolt it close to the roof without the roof rails!
