Hello,

So i am trying to debate whether to stick with my lovely Freelander, which i lovingly polish every week (yes i am sad, i know...), or if i should sell it.

I can't seem to get a clear market value as the prices range massively, so i wondered what you FL2 lovers would says it is worth?

Its done 110,000 miles (circa), has FSH history, new brakes, new tyre, recent gearbox flush.

It has a judder issue very occasionally, so i need to work out based on value if i bite the bullet and get it repaired and sell/keep it..

I think ill keep my beloved roof tent, but I did have another idea, to fit a mains hookup, and slide out cooker/sink in the boot, and then sell it as a 4x4 camper package (any excuse for me to do some engineering is always welcome).

Thoughts?

It depends on many factors like location in the country, time of year, how complete the service history is, general condition of the inside and outside, how much rust there is underneath, and vehicle specification are all taken into account.
HSE LUX and HSE models command the highest prices, followed by SE and LX, with GS, S and Base specification being towards the lower end of the desirability spectrum. The more desirable it is, the more people are willing to pay.
For reference my good condition 58 plate SE with 135k on it would sell for about £3500, maybe slightly more if I'm prepared to wait for the right buyer to come along.
The same vehicle in the Midlands would be about £800 cheaper, as supply is higher.

I often get guide prices Autotrader, ebay and we buy any car, the latter is often about ½ the forecourt price.

Looks clean (seat covers FFS!), but sadly they're only worth what someone is prepared to pay for a second hand car. You can either drop your asking price to sell it quick or hang on until someone comes along who is looking for a well maintained clean example of the marque.

Absolutely. Mine is worth more to me that it's value in cash, so I've decided to hang on to mine as long as possible, by which time a suitable EV should be affordable.

That's my plan, except I'm more likely to go for a plug-in hybrid. 20~30 mile range under battery would cater for all the local journeys, while a modest petrol or diesel ICE would suffice for the longer trips.

I can understand that. I'm looking at getting a Fisker Ocean, which has a range of almost 300 miles, which is enough for my use, and in 4 years or so should be affordable.

Makes me wonder what those seat covers are hiding!
