Freelander 2 Seats Into Freelander 1

I"ve tried looking in the forums but with no luck. I want to know if Freelander 2 Seats will fit a Freelander 1.
I"m quite prepared to do some fabricating, maybe weld a new bit for the frame etc because I"ve got plenty of time to work on it. Any help or advice very welcome.
I was going to replace the car but it runs like a dream but the worn drivers seat really bugs me so hope to buy a set of Leather heated for a 5 door..

The seat design is completely different, so I would think it's difficult at best.
When I've time, I can take some measurements if you like.
Don't forget that the FL1 uses a pretensioner in the belt buckle, which the FL2 doesn't use, so you'll need to work out a way for the FL1 pretensioner to fitted to the FL2 seat, which probably wouldn’t be easy.
The FL2 also has airbags in the seats, which obviously wouldn’t need connecting in the FL1, as the SRS system isn't designed for more than 2 airbags and 2 pretensioners.

The FL2 has something like 14 airbags, which is a lot compared to the FL1, but it's a much more modern and safe design vehicle.

The FL1 front seats sit on something of a pedestal, meaning there is space under the seats for things like CD changers etc, this gives you room to fabricate your own mounts for a bucket seat or similar using the original runner, seatbelt buckles and their pretensioners. The back seats however would be a whole separate can of worms, but assuming the FL2 back seats aren't wider than the FL1 back seats, with sufficient creative fabrication and determination, virtually anything can be made to "fit". If Nodge posts ups some measurements, and the shoulder to shouder width of the back bench isn't wider than the FL1's seats, I might be able to help you design some bracketry, maybes, depending on IRL workload etc. Failing which it might be a case of buy the seats and making it up as you go a long.
