I have a Free Lander TD4 which had a new clutch fitted ubder warrants a year ago.
Recently the clutch pedal poped up further than ever before. By about 2 inches. There is free play when pressing the pedal until it reaches its normal position and then the gear can be engaged.
Any ideas???
There is no leaks fron clutch cylinder. I am confused and the warranty is nearly up.

Can anybody help??

sounds like the master cylinder piston has pulled out further from the body than it should have perhaps signalling the start of a failure.

when the clutch was changed did the slave master cylinder get changed also?

if not then easy diy job prices range from £60-120 for the parts.

good luck

Your a CLUTCH.

My Land Rover garage took in me FreeLander today to repair the clutch under warranty. So all going well I will be back motoring shortly. In the mean time I have me Series III to keep me going.
Will keep you posted,

David
