I plan to fit a DID headlamp kit to my 2001 TD5 defender, therefore I need to disable the dim dip function on the headlamp as it would mess up the HID kit.
Does anyone know what to do to disable this function:confused:
Thanks

I have just fitted Hid to my 1995 def 300tdi which has dim dip, i fitted my hid's through a relay so the dim dip made the relay come on, both on side and dipped so there was no difference between the stalk.

I used these threads for mine but not to sure if it's the same on a TD5.

And i just bridged the two wires but if you want the proper relay (not sure if is same on td5) you can buy it from here.

Britcar (UK) Ltd > YWZ10003L CONTROL UNIT (G)

Hope this helps

Just for the record HIDs are illegal to retro-fit unless the correct criteria has been followed.

They will pass an MOT but are illegal to fit since 2010, someone needs to prove this though to prosecute though so it's one of those laws that get ignored really...
