Hi guys little question for you brain boxes!! Ok I recently fitted some universal DVD headrest ran the wires under the carpet and hid under the centre arm rest for a very neat looking job :) Now I found a load of amp/bass box wire under the carpet in the boot so I thought how lucky is that and I used the 2 red wires and trailed them under the carpet to the centre arm rest and connected one to each headrest. When the key is turned to position 1 the DVD's are all flickery and pale but when I turn the engine on they come on fine  why does this happen? I'm thinking about using the red wire that goes to the sunroof switch as I have no sunroof, would this be a better power source to tap into. Please help me guys knowledge is power and I crave both lol:D by the way I have a 2004 td4 sport just in case that makes any difference in layout!

It seems to me that the power source isn't constant enough untill charge is applied to electric system. The power source your using could be for something small or have a relay in system. A common place to power DVD screens is the light circuit its simple to access and works well in most cases. Put out the light socket and see if you have any of them wires piggy backed. Check also the fuse for light socket for wires. Flickering is power drain. A good cure for this is to run the power direct from battery and connect the earth to the ignition circuit this will ensure pure and clean power to the DVDs

No. When adding high draw accessories always run a dedicated feed. If its just two headrests I'd suggest the 12v rear of console socket power feed. It's ignition switched but plenty of power there.

Thanx for alk your help guys finally sorted it bought a male conector and plugged it into the wiring conector fot the rear ac power point works a treat and now my kids are quite again
