hello i have a problem with my lights i have checked the bulbs and they are ok and the fuses are ok but my side lights and my driver`s front and rear lights still won`t come on can any one help its got me

Have you checked the fuses in the engine compartment?
Checked the earths?
Can you flash your high beam when lights are off? If so try replacing the light switch with a known good one.

Aaaah, outside lights, was half asleep when i read it this morning due to a very good party. isnt it a fuse under the bonnet?

sorry i ment to say driver`s side front and rear lights wont come on,aswell as the side lights but full beam works fine. the fuses and the bulbs are ok aswell, could it be a bad earth or the switch on the stork that are faulty

Because the two lights pick up their earths from different locations i would doubt that's the problem if you have a trailer socket that also uses the o/s (RH) circuit so worth checking that out also if u have one. You also need to check for a 12v supply into the supply side of the fuse holder, if it isn't there then you have a problen at the lighting switch as that is where the n/s and o/s circuits start.

Ooops there's me telling u this and I don't know what model of disco u have the above is based on a 300 series.

thanks for advice, its an 03 td5gs. wish i kept my tdi aswell, have had problems with the lights from the start, took the relay of the spots and thats when this happened ,but i have noticed that when i lock the car the main beam come on sometimes, thats why i think it could be a bad earth

There is a ficillity in D2s that if programmed can switch the lights on for a short while to light the pathway from the disco at night.
As for your lighting prob get yourself a Haynes manual and with the circuit diagrams trace the circuit to the points that could cause the problem u discribe.
