Anyone used it and is it any good? I gather the display is not great as its quite small? Its in a 2002 Disco which I am going to view tomorrow. I have my eye on two ES models and cant really decided between them without seeing them of course. However this one has the GPS fitted which I do tend to use quite a bit on my current car.

Yep, the factory nav is very good. I've got a Becker 4765 head unit in my ES. The options are very good, it has some nice features and the voice prompts are excellent but as you say the display is only the dot matrix readout on the head unit. It doesn't matter too much as the voice prompts make up for that. If you are talking about the nav unit on the Metropolis, I think the colour display screen is pretty small but it does display a map. The fact that it is factory means it is all tied up to the head unit and you can still listen to CDs and radio whilst getting the prompts.

The only real concerns I have with my factory nav is the lack of screen and the lack of speed camera warnings. I would still recommend it though.

Cheers for the reply...yes I did buy it in the end and am well impressed with it. Makes hell of a difference when the prompts come through the speaker as, as you say you can hear them clearly over the music. As with any GPS I have used I find the "fast route settings" are ridiculous. Will take you miles out of your way to keep you on an A Road, but I guess thats what the Short Route settings are for.

I have the 2003 disk, I wonder how much better it would be with 2007 in terms of new roads etc.....have seen them on eBay but I guess these are copies.

I bought a copied disk off ebay and it works fine. Its version 9, not sure which year but I reckon its fairly recent. Its a cheap way to get updated maps :D
