Hi, my power steering pump bracket has rather inconveniently broken resulting in the belt being chucked off, again! alternator last time , all 3 bolts sheared off.
so , ive procured a replacement from Land rover , only it bolts ok to the block but the rest is different and my pump doesnt fit. The bracket has been changed and the earlier one is obsolete.

My question is do I change the power steering pump to one that fits?

Thanks for any ideas, regards Tim.

....is the alternative
:p

Thanks will scour ebay for a secondhand one. It is probable that the rear bolt in the pump was never fitted by the garage who fitted a new pump before I took custody, in fact the eye was also broken for the bolt but clearly an old break , maybe it broke removing the old pump. I am worried that the rear bolt is inaccessible and answers why it got broken off and left out. Didnt fancy going secondhand considering what an inconvenience it is to have it break but as I can see the Land Rover was not actually at fault , worth a try. Days are numbered for the old bus, lovely ulez is coming for her by the sounds of it . Cobblers.

strange I thought my was destined for the scrap, after failing the MOT rear chassis gone, brake pipes, and a few other problems, like wet carpets leaking sunroof, headliner disintegrating with damp, I was even looking to get another, Look at mine, find one on line ....am I buying more problems than I currently have as it starts and run, it stops, OK still leaking oil no handbrake, then I open the V5 saw it was registered on my birthday and fixed the lot, she still starts runs and stops, at 22 year, 15 with me, its only a bracket fix it
