disco key programming

i bought a m plate disco.but it only had one key fob.so i did the stupid thing and bought a spare one of ebay.i ran through the programming procedure and put it in to learn mode i tryd the new fob but nothing happened.thinking it needed 2 codes i pushed my old one too.after nothing happening i realised id managed unprogramme my original fob.BALLS!! i then tryd to reprogramme my old fob to the ecu but it wouldnt work,does anyone know if i have to wipe the ecu of the original codes as i know some ecu,s can only hold a few codes.and if so how do i do it???? any ideas would be more than welcome.

yea there was a flight test and much swearing ha ha
