Have only had my disco 300 tdi for a few days and I can already see the appeal of these. So far, I've taken it to places I could only dream of going to in my gaylander TD4. Anyone who says a gaylander can do 90% of what a disco can, is talking ****, or smoking something, or even both at the same time!

There were a few moments when I had my doubts, but nope. The disco ploughed through without complaining at all.

Pic really doesn't do it any justice and I was tempted not to bother uploading it (for instance, that seemingly little ditch on the far left was a massive ditch that I spent 5 minutes making sure I stayed clear of) but put it this way, my gaylander never made it past that point.

And a Disco 2 is even better !!

Even with all that overhang?

I will probs get a disco 2 eventually but they're too expensive atm and I wouldn't fancy an early model. If I spent £3-£5k on a disco 2, every scratch and dent would be enough to ruin my day. It's not quite so bad when you've only paid £1200 for a disco 1!

This has tickled me, how many times have we dissagreed and u slagged discos off. anyway all that aside and nice disco by the way! enjoy

True, but Disco's have the comfort as standard.

Then we make the less comfortable with all the mods....more noise with MT's, take out the sponge on the floor ect., lol, but they still are comfortable and capable

Until you come to maintance, and the electronics.........

Well done Rich, about time, you know it made sence, just get using it, get it dirty, just remember its a landrover not a show piece, lol

Have fun

Totally agree... Given ALL vehicles are compromises on comfort/economy/ability/ on or off road etc etc and we all want our compromises angled different ways I`m happy with my 300tdiand wouldn`t change it for a Td5, or go back to a P38 because of maintenance niggles. Bit less comfort? yes, but for me tis a price worth paying.

Couldn't agree more. I've spent much of the last 10 years driving company BMW and Mercedes saloons and wouldn't swap a single one of them for my ES.

Even my kids will choose her first if I have to take them out somewhere, clever little monkeys that they are.
