Picked up new shock mount. thanks to Matthew2riches for locating one for me and to Britcar who had 4 in stock!

Just got in from an hour under the Disco. The old mount came away without any issues :D
FYI to get to one of the nuts the sedimentor bowl needs to be removed.

Also the sedimentor is actually held on with same bolts that hold the shock mount on.

Just try not to round the thread on the mount in the first place

if you can get a replacement nut why not try spliting the nut? i always advise replace the nuts as they are ny loc and not very good to be reused , local car shop should have them in stock

often a new nut will cut a nice useable thread in a rear shock mount

pretty standard for the threads to be half cooked on them, but i usually find the nut has the worst thread rip. a new nut will iften find a bit of purchase on the shock mount.

replace the mount if you like, but just for reference, theyre often pooped and new nut sorts it. within reason!

Thanks for the advice guys.
In the end I replaced the mount. It was only £15 and three bolts. So all sorted.

The lift kit was fitted last week and so far, so good.

Had a good day laning today and a lot less banging and crashing on the underside.

I'm sorry but I forget to take many photo's during the fit as it was a bitch of a job due to rusty nuts!

Currently nothing drive wise feels very different. The sterring still self centers, corning is OK.
My brakelines / ABS wires are still attached. But somethings sure to give up soon  so I'll keep you posted.

I don't have many photo's but I do have a before an after taken at similar angles as well as a few taken during fitting.

I'll update again when and if anything changes .

I am getting a knock from the back somewhere but I think this is the back door as I had the same fault once before and it sounds the similar.
No rumbles form uj's (yet), but I did give them a good dose of grease the day before the lift.

Only time will tell and maybe this is a little early to say? but I think I may have been unnecessarily worrying about this modification (well hopefully).
I'm planning on taking the Disco on a 200 mile trip at the weekend which will involve lots of motorway driving so I'll let you know how we get on.

A silly thing but check your spare wheel nuts...... I had a banging and it was the spare wheel with 2 loose nuts and was rattling through the vehicle!!

Stretched the Disco's legs this weekend.
Driven just under 300 miles, lots of motorway.

Handled same as before, no issues with steering, breaking, corning etc.
Rev's seem a little higher when @ 70mph, but then its rare I get to 70, so maybe thats just my memory going?

But.....
I have noticed a leak from the back diff (where it meets with prop).
I know this is a new leak as it was fine until this weekend.
This of course could be nothing to do with the lift and just a coincidence.

Just been reading some posts and sounds like it could be the Pinion oil seal?

The oil seal pushes in. Take the flange and a few bits and bobs out and it slides right on in there

If yours has perished, the sudden wrench upwards on the prop may have caused a slight tear

Sounded a lot more involved in the few threads that I found on the subject .
Fishsponge tried to do his at the maintenance day (the one we both missed).
And they failed to get the old one out (LINK)

Mansfield have given me an OK price so its being done today :D
