Disco 2 - No diff lock

My Disco 2 has no diff lock and I realise that this was the case for many. But just wondering what peoples opinions/experiences of one coping off road and on ice/snow.

I,ve just fitted the transfer box and linkage to my " 03 " model, and it has improved the cars ability in many offroad situations.

Depending on your Disco,s year, you may have the difflock fitted to the box, and " only " need the linkage to activat it. ( if your lucky ! ).

diff lock can be retro fitted either with cable and lever or with more in transfer box if not fitted ,you have traction control instead which works on apllying brake to which ever wheel starts to spin ensuring other wheels have torque and so drive ,in theroy this should be better than diff lock as you dont have to put it in and out on variable ground ,and has been use on tractors for years

If I had traction control I wouldn't care about having diff lock. It's almost like having electric windows with winders as well. Only good if one fails.
