They didn't do an OEM DVD player AFAIK so i assume you have an aftermarket player which is now shagged, and needs replacing.
Even if there was an OEM player, that'll be shagged too. Unless you can find the original manufacturer, and ship it to them or an authorised dealer for repair.

Grab a pair of headrest dvd players from ebay £170 all in, you never hear from the kids on long trips.

yes i had the same issue and it turned out to be due to what format the dvd's were in. As the dvd player was 2004 issue it would only play old dvd's and only way to resolve it was to buy a newer player which would fit same space and play currentr dvd's
