Difflock linkage vibration - how to get to it?

I've got a buzzing noise coming from the difflock selector, which disappears when I grab the handle. I need to get some grease down there, but when I took the gaiter off, I found that there is a large 'dome' of rubber/foam molding there, which I didn't want to pull out in case I damaged it. I presume that the linkage is behind there, so any ideas as to how that comes out, or do I have to look at another access point to grease the difflock linkage?

yer just get on your back and do it from ontop of the transfere box, its easy enough to get to.

That sounds like a dirty weekend job! I think I'll leave it until after I come bcak from Czech. I can always tie a bit of string from the selector lever down the side of the console............
