"And allocate an hour per arch and get someone to help. Probably the most hateful DIY job I've done on my 90!"

Eh?????? Had to do mine again a few months ago and they only took about 10-minutes each corner single handed, why the problems?
One tip I do have is to put the slightest of tapers onto the end of the pin and they slide into place much easier, aftermarket or genuine I have had the same problem with both but this makes it a breeze. I always keep a supply of the clips in the gararge, I usually manage to recover most/all of the pins but in case I can't I have some to hand to let me complete the job.

You don't leave near Tring Hertfordshire do you as I'd happily pay you some beer tokens to swap my arches as it took US so long to fit one that we didn't bother with the rest!!

As it turns out i'm not too far away but I am more interested in why it was such a pain of a job for you, what was going wrong?

The holes in the arch seem to be very slightly too small for the plastic clips, plus the area where the holes seem pushed in if that makes sense?

Was joking about fitting them! On the list (inc snorkel and bulkhead bar) for when it's MOT'd at the end of the month! I'll chuck it all in the back and hope it's all fitted when I collect it the following day.

I know this is an old chat but I'm putting some on my 96 defender and when taking the old arches off the front theres a 4 inch gap now inside where the wheel lining met the old arch and the new big one sits on the outside.
Dosnt look right what have I done wrong????

Cut the old arches up to cover the gap. That gap is there on 90/110
Fix them back with self tapping screws
(That’s how mines done.you can still access the wiring if there is a problem)

Are the front the same as the rear for your new ones, They shouldn't be? As you have discovered the original front arches are a different design to cover the gap between the wing and the inner arch. Either your extended arches are incorrect or they expect you to build a spacer piece to fill the gap.
