D2 AIR COMPRESSOR FITTINGS

Having disconnected the air bag fittings from the compressor, fitted them back but they don't seem to tighten back up. I'm not a "gorilla" mechanic so stopped spannering when I realised they weren't going to nip up. Is there a replacement for the "olive" types on the end of the pipes?

The only available part is ANR6460...i've always stated that it's not a good ideea to disturb those connections, no reason for that whatsoever, let's hope the problem is not with the thread in the valves

Use Ptfe on thread or smear of jointing compound

Don't know about the compressor end, but the Dunlop replacement bags have a push in fitting for the air lines.

That's ok for the outer ring but it's the "olive" end that's the problem.

Apparently, having surfed the web, it's VOSS connectors I need. Part No ANR6460 might do the trick.

Update on part number ANR6460. It appears this is only for the one central connection on the compressor. I wondered if the other two came with the feed pipes but John Craddocks say no.

But aren't the valve connectors the same?... if not i'm sure you can find connectors on the market with the proper thrad then you'll have the valves with push fit type, something like this http://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/04411047

No unfortunately they are not the same and the one in your link is a male fitting. Quick browse thro the list seems they are all male fittings and I need female.

....then why did you think that ANR6460 might be good cos that's male? i can't understand what connectors are you speaking of... the type of fitting i posted can be screwed into the valve using some loctite sealer then the air supply pipe push fits in it like in the air spring

Update for anyone working on the compressor.
One of my problems initially was access to the pump as one of the securing bolts to the tray had stripped its thread so wouldn't come out. So having tried to work on it in situ (to fit new piston seal) I gave up and decided to remove it. Two things I then noticed were that the thread in the valve block was stripped (couldn't see it in situ) and that the unions part no ANR6460 (thank you Sierra Ferry) were all the same despite advice to the contrary. Did'nt have to fit new ones anyway. Bought a second hand complete compressor off Ebay with all the fittings including the valve block.
Bit of advice. There are three big washers that sit on top of the insulators. If you are fitting these with the tray off the car then shouldn't be a problem but with the tray already attached would be well nigh impossible to reach. I therefore superglued them to the bottom of the compressor and placed it carefully back in.
Incidentally the low pressure pipes are a bit of a swine to disconnect and come off by pushing the outer collar in, then pushing in and pulling out the pipe at the same time
