cv joint part number?

i have been busy repairing the damage to my swivel ball half shaft and CV joint. have fitted the ball and shaft, opend the box for the CV and its not the same it looks as if the half shaft will fit one end, and looks like a shaft is needed to go to the wheel. the CV i removed had a shaft going to the wheel as part of the CV joint. new CV is part number RTC5843 my landy is a k reg 200tdi disco. any one know what part i need? thanks

You need to knock the shaft out of the old CV and re-fit it into the new one.

hum.. i did give it a try but looks like the shaft is part of the cv joint. i cant see it comes apart. the new one is pretty obvious a shaft need to go in it. but the new one look as if it is all as one. i may have the wrong part as i have looked online and the later type cv's look more like mine. but mine has 10 spline halfshaft so i assumed i needed the early type as this is what i normally order?

who sold you one pre ja year ,10 spline rtc6811 24 spline stc3051 or tdj000010 (they are the same )

have just googled it and this looks better. i brought it from paddock spared online. to be honest it was late and i have ordered the wrong bit. cheers i will ring them tomorrow and see if i can change them
